Despite the fact that there are dozens of career counselling services which offer various types of counselling services to their clients, I would say that I couldn't have better experiences in any other places, than what I had with Manish (MG) and Sameer.

This is different and very unique place, and I consider myself lucky to be connected with them. Unlike other places, they never asked me to sign up for the program, unless I felt to do so.

I've mostly communicated with Manish, and I would say his strength is, his unique and pragmatic approach towards a problem. With me, he always preferred to be very straight forward and honest on his opinion on my real scopes/chances for a job rather than sugar-coating stuffs, which has not only helped me to figure out the right opportunities for me, but also increased my confidence in the suitable job applications, which are really meant for me. I'm also very much impressed with the vast experiences and exposures he has, thanks to his own excellent profile.

With all these he could successfully figure out suitable job options for a me. initially thought it would be very difficult for me to change a career (from academics to corporate sector, and in a completely different domain) at this stage (I'm a Physics PhD). However things looked very possible and easy after talking to Manish, it was really a relief for me.

Really great job guys !

MBA Essay editing Package --> Highly recommend it to anyone serious about getting admit from a top university.

To start off I accidentally chose MCB but that decision proved to be very fruitful! I have been accepted into Oxford and will be starting next year!

Good points:
1) They really make you do a lot of work !! Yes right . Do not expect MCB to write your essays for you. MG would give me the ideas & highlevel structure of the essay and guide me on how to get the content etc and then I had a do a lot of work to write the essay. This process really helped me know my target schools better and also helped me bring out the best essays that I could .
They make you do the job with sufficient guidance rather than spoon feed complete details. Through this, by the end of your application, you would feel very confident about your application with the vast knowledge & information you would have gained. It also gives a sense of achievement after you submit an application :)

2) Frank and honest review and feedback!
MG would give honest feedback during each of the essays review. If something was not up to the mark, he would say so directly. There's no sugar coating while providing feedback. He would provide lot of tips on how to strengthen it.

3) Quick turn around time and willingness to accommodate urgent requests if feasible
MG has a very quick turn around time usually a couple of days. There was never any delay from his end. Moreover I had to complete my Oxford application in a very short time and MG provided full support in helping me complete it on time.

4) Expertise
This goes without saying.

5) Worth the price !
Before checking MCB, I checked out few international MBA consultants and needless to say they were all too expensive. From my experience I would say, MCB's services were worth the price I paid.

Profile Builder Review

I had recently decided that I wanted more from my professional life and began thinking about pursuing an MBA. However, I was confused about my chances and whether an MBA is really for me. I therefore opted for the Profile Builder option at MBACrystalBall. Here is my take on the value it provides:

Cost: Cost wrt the value it adds to you is reasonable. I started out really confused and without a good idea of what my strengths, weaknesses are, and more importantly, what my focus areas should be. These were dealt with sufficiently.

Profile build and analysis: Good analysis, with emphasis on the wrap up call, which i found to be the most valuable. I would have preferred a more detailed report, fleshing out more details, but for the purposes of the profile builder, it is sufficient.

Flexibility: Good. I had to cancel appointments for wrap up calls multiple times due to my own time constraints - MG was very understanding and gave me enough time and space to get my thoughts in order, so I could have an effective wrap up call session with him. Important thing to remember is to treat the analysis process as if it were the real thing.

Data building Excel Sheet: This was basically to give MG a basic idea of your profile (career, education etc) but more important is the essay section where most of my weaknesses were found and pointed out. I personally was not fond of the mini-essays since they are not easy to write, but it had to be done and was helpful in the end.

Final Verdict: If you are looking at an MBA as a path to professional advancement but are: 1. confused and unsure, 2. lack time to analyse yourself and properly identify whether this is for you or not, 3. Do not know how to go about it and what areas to concentrate on, then Profile Builder is for you. It was definitely the right choice for me.

[This was originally published on our blog in 2011 before being moved here.]

They say that a happy customer stays silent while an unhappy customer tells 10 people. But sometimes it's also nice to have a happy client tell 100 others.

In our case, many of the clients who've taken up our MBA Admissions Consulting services have called us up to express their gratitude, but many have chosen to be silent when it comes to posting MBA consultant reviews on public forums.

Most of them are modest and don't like indulging in PDA (Public Display of...umm...Admiration). But occasionally we do get those who don't mind sharing their thoughts openly, so others looking for similar services can benefit.

We got one such nice testimonial on the BusinessWeek forum [Edit: This forum is defunct now] from a candidate who got into multiple top schools with scholarships.

Pasting this MBA consultant review for MBA Crystal Ball services verbatim. This is a genuine comment from a genuine candidate. Any resemblance to the Shopping Network TV ads ('Main pehle bohot pareshan thaa, phir mujhe mila Baba Sameeranand ka chamatkari MBA Mock-Application Process...') is purely coincidental.

MBA MAP Review

Hello everyone…

I have used Sameer’s MBA MAP report, and I wanted to share my experience with you all…

About eight months back, I was disheartened… my applications in 2009-10 had returned me abysmal results, with no interview from a single place. I had started questioning my every move. That’s when I felt, I was getting it wrong somewhere and felt I needed an expert help.

I had been following Sameer’s posts then and used to find his observations interesting. I learned about his MBA MAP and felt I should give it a try - and since it’s so wonderfully priced - I didn’t think much and ordered it.

In my initial calls with Sameer, he gathered all relevant information about my background. He patiently heard me and got a complete picture about where I was coming from, my goals etc. This was then promptly (within a day) followed by his famous MBA MAP report.

The report revealed that the places I had previously applied to where ALL ambitious or stretch for me. I immediately realized that if I addressed this aspect, I will surely get better results this time.

The report was followed up by an hour long call where Sameer addressed all my questions, doubts, inhibitions…you name it! In the call, we also created a model portfolio of schools I should be applying to. Again, I was struck by the information he carries, his keenness to address all your doubts, and most importantly – his eagerness to see you succeed…!

During the subsequent months, I more or less stuck to the portfolio we had created.

Today, I have got admits from 2 Top MBA programs (both with scholarships) and am waitlisted at 2 other Top schools. Sameer’s MBA MAP has played a crucial role in my improved performance.

I would highly recommend that you use the MBA MAP. It will be the first important step of your application journey. A step that will lead you to the right direction. A step that will make the rest of your journey, easier…and more productive.

Now, can you do your own research and come to the same conclusion that Sameer’s MAP report would suggest??? Sure…Only, by using the MAP, you will save about 6 crucial months of your application process.

And Sameer, a request to you: keep the price at its current affordable levels…I’m sure far more candidates would benefit that way. And, thank you – as always – for your help…!

This review was originally posted on our blog and then moved here.

When Shipra was revelling in her euphoric post MBA MAP phase, we asked her if she's be willing to share some feedback about her experience.

We've already got several feel-good testimonials (all genuine, by the way) on our MBA Crystal Ball Facebook Reviews page. So we thought Shipra would do something similar.

Instead, what we got was an elaborate 5-C Model that could give Michael Porter (and his 5-Force Analysis Strategy Framework) a run for his money.

Entrepreneur & MBA aspirant Shipra’s 5-C Model
by Shipra Baranwal

The MBA Mock Application Process has truly been an insightful experience. I will sum up my experience in 5 C's of the Crystal Ball MAP.

1. From confusion to clarity
After a GMAT score in hand, I spent several sleepless nights assessing and re-assessing myself as to where I stand in the MBA race. The MAP assessed me on unambiguous parameters and gave me a clear understanding of where I stand and what is the stamina I need to build up to finish the marathon. Not only has the process given me answers to a lot of questions but also given me clarity of thought about the approach to find answers and cleared away clouds of confusion.

2. Choices Vs Chances
The process analyses individual profiles in great depth. Also churns out data of business schools keeping in mind the best fit for you. It has taught me the difference between making choices versus taking chances. I have devised a logical and a rational approach to making choices.

3. Connecting the dots
I like the comprehensive structure of the process. It is designed to allow each one of us to look deeper within ourselves. The self evaluation, essays and the mock interview all have taught me to connect the dots. At first glance it looked very easy to pen down 150 words on the essays, it actually took me two days to connect with myself and think about my true failure in life. I thoroughly enjoyed the process of digging into my inner self and doing some self introspection. I don't remember when is the last time I spent time just thinking and connecting with myself.

4. Continuity in communication
I had been speaking to a lot of people about my MBA plans, yet it was a different experience when I first spoke with Sameer (much before I wrote the GMAT). His insights are realistic above all he is more like a mentor who helps you understand what is best for you. Amidst this entire chaos and daunting task of figuring out which schools/programs suit me best, I have found immense comfort that Sameer is just a phone call/ email away to answer all my queries. Thank you Sameer for your prompt replies to my emails(in matter of minutes),listening patiently to all the questions that I threw at you like connubile missiles and always answering my concerns without keeping any time bound frame.

5. Crystal Ball experience
The MAP truly worked like a crystal ball allowing me to peek into my own future. It allowed me to tap into my own sub-conscious and discover hidden knowledge. It revealed information about issues concerning my future and has enabled me take corrective actions.

Thank you for all the help and support.

Cheers,
Shipra
